Kissey was found on the M25 by an eagle eyed gent. Kissey was on the ground and very, very weak. The kind man phoned the vet and was directed straight to us. She isn't very old, this years chick and probably hasn't quite got the hunting experience up to speed. Kissey is newly fledged. Kestrel chicks stay with their siblings and parents for a while. As the chicks learn to hunt and the parents care for them.
She was so thin and tried we were very concerned. After some TLC and medicine she started to pick up through the night. She still wasn't standing and her eyes were closed. By the next afternoon she was up and hissing in that special Kestrel way. Kissey will need some food and flying practice to get her fully fit before she can be released back in the wild where she belongs.
Thanks to her kind rescuer Kissey will get a second chance.
