We are committed to encouraging through knowledge the integration of wildlife into our countryside's and gardens along side us in a natural balanceIf you shop with Amazon through our site you will be supporting us and enabling us to carry on our work. Why not tell your friends as well. Amazon is a fabulous web site to shop withChimney RescueUnfortunately birds sometimes fall down our chimneys. Some chimneys have an open fireplace and in this case the bird can be let out into the garden. In many cases the fireplace is gas and sealed or sometimes just boarded over. The birds that fall down these chimneys will starve and die a slow and painful death. The owner of this house heard flapping behind his fire and contacted us straight away. We managed to removed the fire eventually after ensuring he was strong and fit we released this lucky shaken pigeon. The photos below show this pigeon was not the first visitor to this chimney but unfortunately this one had already been dead for a long time. Free at last, a bit ruffled but well. He was successfully released after checking all was well.

Amazon.co.uk WidgetsA simple bird cowl can be fitted to the chimney top to ensure birds do not get into your fireplace These cowls are available from our on-line shop (CLICK ON THE LINK)or contact your fireplace specialist for supply and fitting. They prevent birds, leaves and mammals from entering your chimney In the case of gas fires it can be dangerous for birds to get in and block the chimney and prevent the release of gas. |
