We Need Your Help!

We are a small charity run totally by volunteers. Our volunteers are dedicated and come from a wide range of back grounds. We are always looking for more volunteers to carry out some of the roles below.
If you have some spare time and would like to help us in some areas, please fill out the following from and return it to [email protected] and we will contact you.
As well as helping with animal care, there are other volunteering opportunities. Maybe you could collect injured animals in your area when needed and bring them into us. Perhaps you have experience in fundraising or PR and you can help raise awareness of our charity through local and national media? Or maybe you have strong admin. skills.
We are sorry but we cannot take anyone under the age of 18.
If you think that you have the skills to help us then please complete the Volunteer Application Form below in the first instance. We will then be in touch to discuss the opportunities available and to arrange for you to come for a Volunteer Induction.
WILDLIFE COLLECTION VOLUNTEER
Sometimes we will need to collect an injured bird or animal, usually from someone who is unable to travel to the center. At the moment we are unable to attend these sorts of rescues, as we simply do not have the resources to do so as all volunteers are tied up at the hospital itself. Ideally we would like to establish a network of remotely-based collection officers who would be prepared to collect an animal (in their area) and bring it over to us in Camberley
FUNDRASING
As a charity we are continually fundraising to keep up with our running costs and to enable us to improve our service. We are always looking for new ways to generate funds. We attend many events and always need help. This would be a home-based role, attending events when necessary, as little as one a year would be great, so if this is your area of expertise please let us know
COMMUNICATION & P.R.
We are a small local charity and we would like to raise awareness of the work that we do. Please contact us if you think you are able to help with this. If the role interests you then you will need email access so you can be informed of any new developments. You will need to be able to write press releases about incidents and activities at the rescue. You will need to build and develop a database of local and national press contacts and follow up and leads which may be beneficial to the needs of the rescue.
SCHOOL & GROUP TALKS
Are you confident in front of a group of people? Why not help us with our educational program by helping with our talks. We receive many requests throughout the year from local schools and community organizations, who would like to know more about the work that we do

why we do it
Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance on the beach, and so he walked faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean READ MORE

How we started
Whilst out walking with my dog in the early 1980's I found a small hedgehog stuck in a fence. He was too fat to go through and his prickles wouldn't let him go back.
He had been pushing so long in an attempt to free himself that the wire had cut into his body and his leg was bleeding where he had pushed and pushed against the ground. I had in my handbag a pair of pliers (no surprise to anyone who knows me) I cut the wire and removed the hedgehog READ MORE
